Setting the Scene

In the wooded Laurelwood/Scholls area of Sherwood, the homeowners wanted a safer and more comfortable way to move through their garden and access different parts of their outdoor space. Their existing grade changes and natural landscaping made certain areas uneven and difficult to reach. They envisioned a low-maintenance composite deck and walkway system that tied into the home’s entry, provided smooth transitions, and allowed year-round usability without sacrificing the natural feel of the property.

The Work

All Building Construction built a network of composite deck sections, ramps, and raised walkways designed to follow the contours of the landscape. Starting at the home’s main entry, a composite deck with wood guardrails anchors the system and leads to a gently sloped ramp supported by piers. The ramp connects with a series of boardwalk-style pathways that weave through the garden, maintaining a level walking surface even as the surrounding ground drops away.

Each section features durable composite decking installed with consistent spacing and clean edges. Natural wood guardrails and benches were integrated where needed, providing both safety and comfort while preserving the organic aesthetic of the yard. Along the house, selected trim elements were repaired and prepped for finish work to blend the new deck system with the existing exterior.

The completed walkway and deck create a cohesive outdoor route that invites everyday use—whether for gardening, relaxing, or navigating the property more comfortably.

Outdoor Spaces Built for Comfort

The new deck and walkway system brings accessibility, durability, and visual harmony to this Sherwood property. With a combination of composite materials and natural wood details, the space now supports easy movement and offers a welcoming connection between the home and garden.
