Setting the Scene
In a hillside area outside Sherwood, the homeowners were building a residence with a strong architectural focus and wanted a dramatic arched window to anchor the main living space. The opening required careful measurement, curved framing, and interior detailing that matched the home’s elevated style. With portions of the surrounding structure still exposed, the team needed to integrate the new window early in the build so the rest of the interior finishing could progress smoothly.
The Work
All Building Construction installed a large, multi-pane arched window designed as a central feature of the home’s façade. The work began with shaping the curved framing around the opening, tying it into the insulated wall structure and the surrounding ceiling plane. Metal ductwork and insulation were already in place, so the new framing had to align cleanly with existing components while maintaining the full radius of the arch.
Inside the home, curved drywall was fitted around the arch to create a smooth transition between the window and the surrounding wall. Outside, the team ensured the window grid and mullion pattern lined up evenly before tying the unit into the stucco and brick exterior finishes. Once installed, the large arched opening provided a focal point for both the interior and exterior, enhancing natural light and emphasizing the home’s architectural style. Work was completed with considerations for typical Oregon practices for moisture control and long-term durability.
